James is excited to return to Northern Virginia and serve the community where he grew up. Having spent much of his life in Fairfax County, he takes pride in helping individuals and families navigate difficult legal issues close to home.
James focuses his practice on fiduciary litigation, representing individuals and families in trust, estate, and inheritance disputes. He enjoys untangling complex legal issues, developing practical solutions, and helping clients understand their options as they work toward a resolution.
Before joining PJI Law, James served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, where he gained extensive courtroom experience handling a wide range of criminal matters. During law school, he worked with William & Mary’s Veterans Benefits Clinic, assisting veterans in securing the benefits they had earned through their service. Those experiences reinforced his commitment to thorough preparation, thoughtful advocacy, and treating every client with respect.
James has deep roots across the Commonwealth. He earned his undergraduate degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg before receiving his J.D. from William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg. His experiences throughout Virginia have given him a lasting appreciation for its history, communities, and people.
Outside the office, James enjoys hiking, rock climbing, swimming, weightlifting, and reading. He has a particular interest in American and British history and is always searching for his next great book or historic site to explore. He also enjoys spending time with his family in Northern Virginia and taking advantage of everything the Commonwealth has to offer.
